Finland and Sweden scramble fighter jets together against Russia in historic first
Finland and Sweden carried out their first-ever joint fighter jet intercept mission this week, scrambling Finnish F/A-18 Hornets and Swedish JAS 39 Gripens to identify a Russian military formation, including MiG-31 and Su-30 jets, over the Gulf of Finland. The mission is the first operational flight under a new bilateral Quick Reaction Alert agreement between the two nations, both of which joined NATO after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
